💙 Incredible story from down under! 💙

An Australian man, Dr. John Levin, just became a father at 93 years old. He and his 37-year-old wife, Dr. Yanying Lu, welcomed their son Gabby in Melbourne. 🍼✨

Dr. Levin, a general practitioner specializing in anti-aging medicine, credits his health and longevity to a disciplined lifestyle, including regular exercise, a vegetarian diet, intermittent fasting, and 30 years of human growth hormone therapy. He continues to work five days a week and aims to live long enough to see Gabby grow up.

The couple met through Mandarin lessons in 2014 and pursued parenthood via IVF during lockdowns. They embrace their unconventional family life and focus on happiness rather than societal judgment.

Australia’s oldest new dad proves it’s never too late for new beginnings! 👶💪

László Krasznahorkai 風格 ê 例

Lâi phín-bī László Krasznahorkai ê Satantango ê chi̍t-ê ba̍t koh cha̍t, tn̂g koh tîⁿ ê lē-kù ê hong-keh:

Tī ânx ê tiām-chēng ni̍h he bô-thêng ê bé hô͘-sîn ê zz-zz sī ûi-it thiaⁿ ē-tio̍h ê siaⁿ, koh-ū tī hn̄gx só͘-chāi ê hō͘ it-ti̍t phah-lo̍h, iáu koh-ū, chit nn̄g-hāng í-gōa, gōa-kháu he oan-khiau siuⁿ-si-á put-sî sio-e sio-kheh ê siaⁿ, ... seng-tióng kap soe-pāi kiâⁿ sûi-lâng ê lō͘; it-chhè chiah-ê kúi-chheng kúi-pah ê hôe-siaⁿ chiat-chàu, chit-chióng àm-mê cha̍p-im ê hūn-loān kau-chhap, hián-jiân sio̍k tī kāng káng siaⁿ-lâu tiong ê só͘-ū pō͘-hūn, he sī chhì boeh bē-kì tit choa̍t-bōng; sui-bóng mi̍h-kiāⁿ āu-bīn chhut-hiān kî-thaⁿ mi̍h-kiāⁿ bē-su teh chok-koài, tān it-tàn chhiau-kòe gán-la̍t in tō sòaⁿ-khì bô kòa chò-hóe. ... Só͘-í mn̂g ká-ná éng-oán to khuix, he só chiong éng-oán to bē khui. Ū chi̍t-ê chhim-kheng, chi̍t-ê liah-phāng.

--

... 所以 門 ká-ná 永遠 to 開々, he 鎖 將永遠 to 袂開. 有一个深坑, 一个裂縫.

--

A short quotation from Satantango by László Krasznahorkai as an example of his style:

“In the tense silence the continual buzzing of the horseflies was the only audible sound, that and the constant rain beating down in the distance, and, uniting the two, the ever more frequent scritch-scratch of the bent acacia trees outside, … growth and decay on their divergent paths; all these thousands of echoing rhythms, this confusing clatter of night noises, all parts of an apparently common stream, that is the attempt to forget despair; though behind things other things appear as if by mischief, and once beyond the power of the eye they don't hang together. … So with the door left open as if forever, with the lock that will never open. There is a chasm, a crevice.”

László Krasznahorkai (born 1954) is a Hungarian novelist and screenwriter, known for his dense, philosophical prose and apocalyptic vision of the modern world. His breakout novel Satantango (1985) portrays a decaying rural collective farm and has been adapted into a film by Béla Tarr. Other major works include The Melancholy of Resistance, Baron Wenckheim’s Homecoming, War and War, and Seiobo There Below. Krasznahorkai’s style features long, often looping sentences, minimal punctuation, and a relentless atmosphere of moral anxiety. In 2025, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature “for his compelling and visionary oeuvre that, in the midst of apocalyptic terror, reaffirms the power of art.” The Swedish Academy praised how his writing confronts social fragility while holding onto beauty, even in bleakness.
